LASER Safety

This is a very informative and complete article on LASER Safety. Anyone working with LASERS of ANY power level should take the time to read this informative article.

Rocky and Ziggy want to remind all our visitors.... LASER Safety is NOT an option.
ALWAYS wear your eye protection.

Rocky - Adopted from new York City Bide-A-Wee on September 11, 2006 at 9 months old. Rocky is a Shepherd / Terrier mix. Rocky loves to hunt for raccoons, ground hogs, skunks, ducks, geese, and chases stray cats and squirrels. He is a certified "seeing-eye" guide dog.

Ziggy is a purebred English Fox Hound. Ziggy was adopted by 'Big Sam' of Big Sam Moving of NJ when a customer he was moving could not take the dog to his new apartment, and was distraught over having to give up Ziggy to be adopted. Sam and I gave him a good home and a friend to play with. Ziggy also enjoys 'hunting' with Rocky.

Awesome LASERS supports the safe and legal use of LASER devices by LASER Enthusiasts and the general public. These devices have become extremely popular. Low-powered Hand-Held LASERS are widely used for purposes such as presentations, classroom science teaching, astronomy education and pet "chasing" toys. Higher-powered LASERS are popular with hobbyists and experimenters – the same type of people who enjoy assembling electronic devices, building furniture, working with computers, electronics, cars and other technical devices.

We support each nation's laws regarding importation and use of LASERS.

We support worldwide LASER safety standards developed by IEC, ANSI and other groups. They have divided LASERS into four main Classes, based on their hazard. We educate our Web site visitors and customers about these hazards.

Our Web site contains extensive safety information, warnings, and links.
Every LASER we sell comes with safety information appropriate for the LASER's Class.
Every LASER we sell comes with the safety features such as interlocks that are required by law for the LASER's Class.

LASERS are similar to other tools. For example, there is a huge variety of power tools, from routers to radial arm saws. Most of these tools are used every day by the general public, safely. Certainly some tools, if misused, can cause serious injury and even death. Because there are those people who will misuse these tools, does not mean that an entire class of tool should be banned. Similarly, just because a few persons misuse LASERS, does not mean that all Hand-Held LASERS and general-use LASERS should be banned. In point-of-fact, a general ban on LASERS such as eBay has done will only drive the marketplace somewhere else. In fact, this Web site (and a few others we run) are a direct result of eBay "bans". eBay's ban on downloadable software has caused us and hundreds of other companies to sell proprietary software on dedicated Web sites. For example, we sell proprietary software on a sub-domain of our main Web site:
http://digital.net4truthusa.com

We believe bans are counter-productive, and will cause unscrupulous sellers to flourish selling inferior and unsafe products. We believe the LASER Community can police itself; and government meddling will cause nothing but problems. Awesome LASERS will do everything humanly possible to promote LASER safety, and our Terms of Sale is one such self-imposed responsibility.

Awesome LASERS supports the responsible sale and safe use of LASERS. We verify each purchase of our higher-powered devices is made by a responsible adult.
